So you want a Blog? Why not, it’s the in thing.
Where do you start? It quite easy actually. Getting a blog online is the same basic process as any other type of website.

You can choose to do it for free using a free blog hosting platform or use a method that will cost you some sort of investment, be it great or small.

The free option is for those who absolutely cannot afford to buy a domain name or pay monthly hosting to keep your blog online.
To do this you have options like http://www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com. What’s the catch? Non really, these services are great services and they are very good for starter bloggers. The main downside is that with these free services you don not get your own .com domain name. You will have a subdomain like yourname.blogger.com or yourname.wordpress.com. If creating your own brand is important to you then this is not the way to go.

However If you are going to go commercial and want your own brand then I suggest hosting your own blog.
There are great advantages to this especially if you are in it for the long haul.
1 – Your own Domain name – You can brand your blog and your won domain make it unique.
2 – Themes – You will have access to thousands of themes you can use to create the look and feel you want. You also have the option to get a custom designed blog theme for you blog.
3 – Access to unlimited plugins to improve the functionality of your blog.
4 – Branding – You can brand your blog will be easier and you will appear more professional with you own hosted blog.
